Dr. Brian McCartney, BSc, PhD, FIEE, CEng Dr McCartney is an oceanographic engineer with 40 years experience of underwater technology and marine science. He was Director of the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory from 1987 to 1998, and is currently a visiting Professor at the University of Liverpool. He has experience in European and international programmes. Dr McCartney was formerly a President of the Challenger Society for Marine Science, a member of the initial Marine Foresight Group and a consultant on underwater acoustics to the Intergovernmental Oceanographics Commission.
